Our Lady of Guadalupe's Music Ministry serves all aspects of parish life. Liturgical musicians are called to minister to the congregation by inspiring them, through music, to celebrate Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. The Music Ministry is open to parishioners who are willing to share their talent in vocal and/or instrumental music, and at the same time exhibit a willingness to work with others, learning and growing in the understanding of liturgy. This ministry provides a great opportunity for the parishioners of all ages to become involved in our parish life. The ministry is made up of the 9:30 Choir, Instrumentalists, Accompanists, Cantors, Life Teen Band, and Hispanic Music Ministry.
The choir is open to anyone who loves to sing. The choir sings every Sunday at the 9:30 mass and most feast days throughout the year, including Christmas, the Easter Triduum, Marian feast days, and funerals. We rehearse on Wednesday nights at 7:00 in the church. New members are always welcome. Contact Sharon Ducote for more information.
Instrumentalists play for the 9:30 Sunday mass and most feast days throughout the year. New members are welcome and audition is required. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7 pm in the church. Extra rehearsals are scheduled as needed. Contact Sharon Ducote if interested.
The cantor sings with the congregation's song and especially leads and proclaims the Responsorial Psalm, the Gospel Acclamation, and any other verses, invocations, or acclamations designated for the cantor.
Life Teen Band
The Life Teen Band leads worship for the 5:00 pm Life Teen mass on Sundays and other Life Teen activities throughout the school year. Keyboardist and guitarists must be proficient in reading guitar tabs. Audition and rehearsals are required.
Hispanic Music Ministry
Volunteers are needed to provide music for the Spanish mass on Saturdays at 7:00 pm.
